Indore to Get a Dedicated Super-Specialty Hospital for Women & Children

Indore: Families in Indore and across Central India are set to benefit from a major addition to the region's healthcare infrastructure with the upcoming launch of Ankura Hospital for Women & Children. The new 120-bed super-specialty hospital, dedicated exclusively to advanced maternity, gynecology, neonatology, and pediatric care, is expected to address the growing demand for specialized treatment for mothers, newborns, and children at Vijay Nagar, Indore. Once operational, the facility will provide comprehensive medical care supported by advanced technology, specialized doctors, and critical care services under one roof.
The announcement comes at a time when the demand for dedicated maternal and pediatric healthcare is steadily increasing across Madhya Pradesh. While Indore has emerged as a leading medical destination, many families with high-risk pregnancies, premature babies, congenital disorders, or children requiring complex surgeries often have to seek treatment outside the state due to limited availability of dedicated super-specialty facilities. The upcoming Ankura Hospital is expected to bridge this gap by bringing advanced clinical expertise and specialized infrastructure closer to patients.
Ankura Hospital is being developed with a strong focus on managing complex pregnancies, neonatal emergencies, pediatric critical care, and specialized surgeries. It will feature advanced labour and delivery suites, modern operation theatres, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), fetal medicine services, pediatric emergency care, and advanced diagnostic facilities. The integrated model of care is expected to improve treatment outcomes while enabling faster medical intervention during emergencies involving mothers and children.
An equally important aspect of the hospital will be its multidisciplinary team of specialists, including experienced obstetricians, gynecologists, neonatologists, pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, fetal medicine experts, anesthesiologists, and critical care physicians. They will be supported by specially trained neonatal and pediatric nurses, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and intensive care professionals. This combination of clinical expertise and advanced infrastructure is expected to enhance the quality of maternal and child healthcare available in the region.
Talking on the upcoming hospital, Dr. Krishna Prasad Rao Vunnam, Founder of Ankura Hospitals for Women & Children, said, "Healthcare for mothers and children requires timely intervention, specialized expertise, and advanced infrastructure. With our upcoming hospital in Indore, our goal is to make high-quality maternity and pediatric care more accessible to families across Central India. The facility has been designed to manage everything from routine deliveries to the most complex maternal and neonatal emergencies. We believe families should be able to access world-class care closer to home, without the emotional and financial burden of travelling long distances during critical situations. Through this initiative, we hope to strengthen the region's healthcare ecosystem and contribute to healthier mothers, healthier newborns, and healthier futures."
The upcoming Ankura Hospital is expected to serve not only Indore but also patients from Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, Ratlam, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandsaur, Neemuch, and adjoining districts. Healthcare experts believe the addition of a dedicated women and children's super-specialty hospital will improve access to advanced maternity care, neonatal intensive care, pediatric surgery, and emergency treatment, while reducing the need for referrals to metropolitan cities. The facility is expected to play an important role in strengthening maternal and child healthcare services across Central India and providing families with timely access to specialized treatment closer to their homes.
